Prickly Pear Cactus 'Golden Honey' (Opuntia toumeyi) is a rare prickly pear cactus whos native range runs through Arizona and southern Utah. It is a unique variety that has a symmetrical, upright and wide growing habit, and has extra large blue/green pads, eventually reaching the size of large pancakes! Springtime blooms display beautiful large golden honey colored flowers that eventually fade into other reddish and pinkish colors! This is one of the largest variety of opuntia we grow and has been growing completely unprotected for many years in the cold high desert region of central Oregon, zone 6b, repeatedly seeing temps below zero degrees F! These have been planted as far north as Canada surviving temps below -20 degrees F!! Planting instructions are included!
